Here is a quick design i did in Compositing class the other day. Started with a tutorial found on abduzeedo.com then just adjusted some layers and effects, added some typography, and voila!

you have a lot of potential to be a good designer, this has a lot of great composition to it that doesn't involve the tutorial. Its what you added. Great job!
